Client Module
Installation
- Download the packages rep_base and rep_client from the repository.
- Unzip the files and upload the contents of directory TL_ROOT to the TYPOlight root folder on your server.
- Point your browser to http://www.yourdomain.com/typolight/install.php
- Enter the installation password and click Login
- Scroll down to Update database tables and click on Update database
Configuration
Log in to the backend as administrator, then open the TYPOlight settings and scroll down. Near the end you should find the settings for the repository:
The most important setting is the SOAP WSDL file. This is the URL of a XML file holding the description about the services of the central extension repository server. Enter the following URL to get access to the development site server:
http://contifex.com/services/repository.wsdl
For the production server on typolight.org you need to enter:
http://www.typolight.org/services/repository.wsdl
In case you are using multiple languages in your backend, you may enter additional language codes as a comma separated list. If an extension is not available in the current language of the backend it will check this list as fallback. You will not be able to access any extension which is not either available in the current backend language, or in one of the fallback languages defined here.
The catalog pagesize can be set to any value you like. Leaving this input empty will use the default of 10 extensions per page.
Catalog
The extension catalog will by default display one page with the latest repository extensions when you enter:
Use the filter, paging and ordering dropdown inputs to find the extension you are interested in. Click the blue info icon to see details about an extension of your interest:
The Install button lets you go directly to the extension manager to install the selected extension. Depending on the extension there may be additional buttons to visit the forum, display the manual, make a donation or buy a license key for a commercial extension.
Manager
At entry the extension manager displays the currently installed extensions ordered by name.
On the top there are two functions displayed:
- Check/update the database.
Use this to check if the database is up-to-date, and to apply updates. Normally this function will get called automatically after extension installs and updates, but you may also find it convenient in case of “manual” installation of extensions not in the repository.
* Install or update an extension.
If you know the name of the extension to install, this is faster than searching the catalog.
In the Updates column, color squares are used to display the update policy for the extension:
- Green: Include stable releases
- Blue: Include RC releases
- Yellow: Include beta releases
- Red: Include alpha releases
In the Status column information about the current status of every extension is displayed, weighted by colors:
- Green: Information
- Blue: Update notices when new releases get available
- Orange: Warning, not necessarily a problem but something to keep an eye on
- Red: Error, the extension will most likely not work
At the right there are 3 icons displayed:
- Edit the settings to change update policy or license key.
- Update or validate the extension.
- Uninstall the extension.
